My Approach

My approach to therapy emphasizes insight, empowerment, and the reconstruction of my clients' experience. I incorporate psychodynamic, attachment theory, and brief solution-focused therapy approaches. My goal is to connect and create a supportive space for my clients through my clinical expertise.

In my practice I've worked with a variety of issues with men and women and I have specific expertise in the following areas:
  • depression
  • trauma
  • men's issues
  • couples
  • anxiety
  • feeling “stuck”
  • relationship problems
  • sexual issues
  • unresolved loss and grief
  • infertility issues
  • life transitions & relocation
  • low self- esteem
I strongly believe in people's natural resiliency and motivation to live a full life despite difficult experiences. Even after the most heartbreaking events people can find strength within themselves to move forward, to make a difference in their own and others people's lives. I believe in the human potential that is inside each of us and part of my work is to tap into that potential within you. When you are struggling you might not be able to find it on your own. My job is to help you to get “ unstuck” from your chronic past problems, patterns, and behaviors that occur again and again.

My work is designed to create an optimal treatment for each client's unique needs. During times when my clients travel, I stay in touch through Skype or by phone. I offer psychotherapy sessions of 50, 75, or 100 minutes, and can be flexible about the meeting frequency, depending on the client's individual needs.

I welcome people from diverse social and cultural backgrounds.
Life can only be understood backwards; but it must be lived forwards.
